Our CS2 team walk away champions after an extremely well fought season of the DFRAG Open Series #4.
A shaky start on top of having a substitute player Damyo Team Abyssal definitely weren’t on the top of the list for predictions to win.
After a loss against Rooster in the playoffs upper bracket the team had a somewhat dominant lower-bracket run to have us face up against Rooster in the grand finals. An intense battle on the first map of Overpass led to what almost looked like a comeback but Rooster were able to finish as winners of Overpass against Abyssal. For the second map the two teams were taken onto Nuke where a close matchup had Abyssal in the lead on their T-side 5 – 7. After the switch of sides Abyssal dominated Rooster going 6 – 0 finishing the map 13 – 5. The third and final map was Inferno where the two teams looked hand-in-hand with the rounds not moving further from one another. That all ended when the team’s T-side shattered Rooster’s economy resulting in a 13 – 11 scoreline for Team Abyssal to close out the series and take the win.
A rather unexpected win for viewers from Team Abyssal’s promising CS2 team has cemented a spot for them in an upcoming DFRAG LAN event later this year.
